User Profile
The user profile section allows you to do the following:
- Set user setting preferences (e.g. main navigation location, review tool auto advance)
- Set your Notification preferences
- Change your password (if not using single sign-on)
- Update your email address
- Set 2-factor authentication preferences
- Generate API token
How to access your profile
- Click your Name in the main menu. If the main menu is at the left then your user Profile page will open. If the main menu is on the top, click your name and then My Profile from the drop down list and the Profile page will open.
Profile
- Click your name in the main menu and then My Profile from the drop down list and the Profile page will open.
- Click the Profile link.
- At this time phone number is not used. We will be adding more features to your profile in future releases.
- Under User Candid Settings you can select whether you want the Main Navigation menu to appear on the left or on the top of the page. Click when you change the option.
- Click your name in the main menu and then My Profile from the drop down list and the Profile page will open.
- Click the Email link.
- Enter or update your work email address and click
- Click the button to save your changes.
Password
- Click your name in the main menu and then My Profile from the drop down list and the Profile page will open.
- Click the Password link.
- To change your password, complete the form:
Current password
New password
Confirm new password – must match the password you entered into New password - Click the button to complete the process.
Password Complexity Requirements
When setting your password, the system will display your organization's chosen password complexity requirements for Candid. The default password requirements are to have at least 12 characters and contain at least 2 unique characters.
Using Okta or Azure Single sign-on?
If you access Candid using Azure or Okta single sign-on then you do not need to use/change/update your password in Candid.
Notifications
Your notifications profile allow you to manage the actions (events) you would like to be alerted to when they happen. There are 2 types of alerts, Email and UI. The UI alerts are a running list of notifications located on the Notifications Hub page.
Manage which alerts to receive
- Click your Name in the main menu. Your user Profile page will open.
- Click the Notifications link.
- All of the actions (events) where you can receive an alert are listed.
- To change the notification level and type click the radio button to the right of the event.

Hub | The event will appear on the Notification Hub index when it occurs. Click the bell icon to open the Notification Hub |
The event will send an email to the account configured in your profile when it occurs. | |
Both | The event will send an email and also appear on the Notification Hub. |
None | The event alert will not be sent to email or appear on the Notification Hub. |
Team Membership Required to Receive a Notification
When subscribing to notifications, only users listed on the analysis Team tab will receive them (eg. statistician and programmer analysis roles).
Observers on analyses do not receive notifications.
How to open Notifications Index
- Click the icon link in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
- The Notifications Hub will open.
Filtering Notifications
- Click your Name in the main menu. Your user Profile page will open.
- Click the Notifications link. There are 2 different tools to help you filter the Notifications Hub page. These filters can be used together to achieve narrower results:
As soon as you change the Notifications filter or type in the text box, the Notifications list will update itself.
The Notifications filter
- In the upper, left-hand corner, locate the heading that reads, Notifications all <notifications> (#).
- Click the drop-down list to change it to one of the following:

- In the upper, right-hand side, click inside the text box that reads, Type to filter.
- Enter your search criteria.

Note
If your search terms contain any space characters, surround the search terms with double-quotes (e.g., "Review Period 3").
API Tokens
You must use a Candid generated API token to authenticate your API calls.
- Click your Name in the main menu. Your user Profile and customizations page will open.
- Click API Tokens link. The list of tokens you have created will be shown. You can have only 1 enabled token at a time.
- Click the button to get a new Key for use in your API calls.
